Honey Cinnamon Salmon (dairy free, gluten free, refined sugar free)

I am a big salmon eater, but it’s important to understand where your salmon is coming from because a lot of salmon sold in the US is farmed, which means fish are bred in pools rather than being caught in the wild. This can lead to less nutrients, high amounts of antibiotics fed to the fish to ward off disease, and less protein compared to wild caught. If you are going to eat farmed fish (which a lot of salmon is) it’s important to buy sustainable brands and understand the farming methods used. This is why I love getting my fish from Sizzlefish (use code GIRLSWHOEAT for 15% off their website). On top of offering five kinds of salmon with three being wild caught, their Atlantic Salmon, which is farmed-raised, has zero antibiotics and maintains the omega-3 fatty acids, which can be heavily reduced in farmed salmon.

There are so many ways to cook salmon and some of my favorite ways are searing it on a skillet, in an air fryer, or in the oven!

The best part about salmon is that it goes with so many different spices and seasonings. This honey cinnamon salmon is one of my favorite combinations because it gives your immune system a boost with the honey and spices both being anti-viral and anti-inflammatory. I love this combo because it is a mix of sweet and spicy and is so quick to make!

How to make this recipe on your stove:

  • 1/2 lb salmon
