Immune Boosting Onion Tea

Ingredients  

  • 1 large organic red onions, quartered with skin left on
  • 4-5 cups water
  • 1/2 apple, cubed (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 tbsp honey, or to taste
  • Additional add ins: sliced ginger, lemon squeeze (½ tbsp), 1-2 garlic cloves, celery

Instructions 

  • Rinse the onions and leave the skin on. Cut the ends off the onion and then cut the onion into 4 quarters. Cut the apple into cubes. Place onions, apples, and cinnamon in a medium pot and cover with the water. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat.
  • Once the water starts boiling, reduce heat to low and let the onion tea simmer for 15-20 minutes. Onions should be cooked through and apples should be soft.
  • Strain liquid with a strainer to remove the large pieces of onion and apples.
  • Add the tea to a cup and add in your honey. Mix and ENJOY!
