Make Your Own Blueberry Hemp Seed Jam

blueberry hemp jam | GIRLS WHO EAT

Since store bought jams are always full of way too much sugar or artificial flavors and making your own jam takes no more than 10 minutes. It is so quick and easy and this version is refined sugar free and made with honey.  The best part is you can store it in the fridge to use all week.  This recipe uses blueberries and hemp seeds, but you can switch out any fruit or berries to make the jam of your choice.  Use this jam on toasts in the morning for breakfast or with some warm and cozy oatmeal to start your morning!

For this recipe, you will need:

Blueberries: you can use fresh or frozen

Honey: local or raw honey are my first choices and you can usually find that at your farmer’s markets or at the grocery store

Vanilla Extract

Hemp Seeds: these superfoods add protein to the dish and a subtle flavor. No hemp seeds? You can use walnuts or sunflower seeds instead

Lemon Juice

Tips:

  • If the jam seems too watery, let it sit over low heat and it will thicken up over time
  • No hemp seeds?  Swap out chia seeds instead

How to Store:

  • Store in a sealed airtight container for up to one week in the refrigerator!
