Making your own seasonings and spice blends can be so easy and it helps you avoid buying ones from the grocery store with any added sugars and unnecessary additives. You can make this taco seasoning in a large batch to have it on hand for taco nights.  This one is great for coating your usual taco veggies (peppers, onions, mushrooms) but you can use it to spice any vegetable or protein like fish, meat or chicken.  It uses simple pantry staple spices and adds the best flavor to your dish.

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Chili Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Paprika
  • Cumin
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Tips:

  • Makes enough for 2 large trays of taco vegetables
  • To have enough to store in your pantry, double the recipe

How to Store:

  • Store in a sealed airtight container in your pantry with your other spice mixes for up to 2 months

Ingredients  

  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • sprinkle of pepper, optional 

Instructions 

  • Add all ingredients into a small mixing bowl and coat your favorite protein or vegetables with it (+ some oil).
  • Store in a sealed airtight container in the pantry until you’re ready to use it + enjoy!
