This air fryer shrimp recipe is one of the easiest and most flavorful shrimp dishes that you can make! Having this blackened seasoning in your pantry to use on seafood, especially on shrimp makes meal prep a breeze. Use your air fryer to cook these shrimp, which are ready in under 10 minutes and add this cabbage mango slaw to a tortilla and enjoy it as a taco!
For this recipe, you will need:
- Air Fryer
- Mixing Bowl
- Shrimp: I get wild and sustainably caught shrimp from Sizzlefish (use code GIRLSWHOEAT for 15% off your first order), which come frozen so they last a while
- Olive Oil: Use extra virgin since it’s not refined or processed
- Blackened Seasoning: I mix my own in a big batch and store it in the pantry because many off the shelf brands contain sugar or natural flavors
- Gluten Free Tortillas
- Cabbage Slaw: this is optional, but delicious paired with the blackened shrimp and a great way to use up cabbage
Tips:
- Prep your blackened seasoning and cabbage slaw in advance
- Try to opt for tortillas free from sugar and gums – check those labels!
- Shrimp needs to be fully thawed before cooking
- No air fryer? You can cook your shrimp on a hot pan or skillet on the stove
How to Store:
- Personally, I find shrimp tastes best when eaten the same day but you can prepare them and store them (once cooled) in a sealed airtight container in the refrigerator to enjoy the next day!
