These air fryer ribs are definitely one of the most fun recipes I have made and are a great vegan option to traditional ribs! While they don’t taste like the meaty version, the way you eat them is similar and there are endless spice combinations you can add to them to mix it up. These are vegan, gluten free, and sugar free and ready in under 20 minutes.
To make this recipe, you will need:
- Air Fryer: my favorite kitchen gadget that cooks food that tastes delicious and is done so quickly
- Corn on the Cob
- Oil: my preference is extra virgin olive oil since it’s not processed or refined
- Blacked Seasoning: you can swap this out for any spice blends you have at home or some paprika and garlic powder
- Cilantro: I topped the corn with this, but you could also use parsley
- Lime
- Sriracha
- Dairy Free Yogurt: if your yogurt is on the thicker side, you may need to add some water to thin out the sauce
Tips:
- WATCH your fingers! Seriously, can’t emphasize this enough. Cutting the corn is by far the hardest part of this recipe. You want to use a sharp knife to trim the edges off the corn, then cut down the center part and then cut those pieces in half again lengthwise
- Make sure you are always cutting away from your body and try not to have your fingers anywhere near the knife blade direction
- Air fryer times may vary based on size and brand so timing listed below may be different for your recipe
- Other spice blends you could use: Cajun, Italian Seasoning, Garlic Powder with Paprika and Salt, or Garlic Powder with Chili Powder and Salt
- Check out this video to see how I made them
How to Store:
- Store these in a sealed airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days! Heat up in the microwave for 30 seconds before enjoying
Have leftover blackened seasoning?
Mix with olive oil and brush it on other seafood like salmon or cod or on cauliflower steaks!

Cooking & Baking Supplies
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 3-4 corn ears
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp blackened seasoning
- 2 tbsp cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 lime, juiced
Chipotle Dressing
- 1 1/2 tsp sriracha
- 1/4 cup dairy free yogurt
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Peel the corn and remove the husks and any strings.
- Cut both ends off the corn (about 2 inches) using a sharp knife. Stand the corn upwards and cut away from your body, cut the corn down the center core lengthwise into two halves. Then cut each half of the corn in half so you have 4 quarters. Cut the quarters down the middle to make your ribs (be VERY careful and watch your hands). Cutting it this way makes it easier to cut the corn into ribs.
- Place corn ribs in a medium mixing bowl and add olive oil and blackened seasoning. Mix everything together well.
- Preheat your air fryer for 3 minutes at 400 degrees.
- Add corn to air fryer (don’t layer any on top of each other) and cook for 10-12 minutes.
- While corn cooks, make your chipotle dressing by mixing all ingredients in a small bowl.
- Remove corn from the air fryer. You might have to do a couple of rounds of cooking your corn depending on how large your air fryer is.
- Add sauce over the cooked ribs + sprinkle fresh cilantro on top + ENJOY!
