Easy Oven Roasted Chickpeas

roasted chickpeas | GIRLS WHO EAT

Roasted chickpeas are super easy to make and high in protein. The best way to store them to maintain maximum crispiness is in a container without a sealed lid (use a paper towel or Bee’s Wrap to cover it). Otherwise, you can store them in an airtight container at room temperature (ideally a pantry) for up to a week. This recipe is a pretty basic one in terms of seasoning, but it’s delicious. You can add these chickpeas to salads, on toast with avocado, or eat them plain!

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Chickpeas
  • Olive Oil
  • Paprika
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt

How to make in the air fryer:

  • Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees for 3 minutes
  • Coat chickpeas in oil and spices and then cook in the air fryer for 10 minutes (add an extra 2 minutes for even more crispiness)

How to Store:

  • Store at room temperature, either in an airtight container or container without a lid (this will keep them crispy)

Cooking & Baking Supplies

  • Baking Tray
  • Parchment Paper

Ingredients

  • 1 15oz can chickpeas
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Drain and rinse your chickpeas well.
  • Using a towel, dry your chickpeas (any moisture will cause them not to crisp). You want them to be as dry as possible. Remove skins if you can (these keep in added moisture).
  • Add chickpeas to your baking sheet. Add the olive oil and the spices and mix together well. Spread chickpeas out evenly on the baking sheet so none are layered on top of each other.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes (until chickpeas are crispy and brown), shaking them halfway through.
  • Let chickpeas fully cool so they get crispy. Store at room temperature, either in an airtight container or container without a lid (this will keep them crispy). ENJOY!
