Easy 3 Ingredient Hot Chocolate

hot chocolate | GIRLS WHO EAT

Holiday season is here and what better way to enjoy the changing seasons than a simple and delicious hot chocolate.  This one is so easy to make with only 3 basic ingredients and the best part is that it is refined sugar free. It only takes 5 minutes to make and uses nutrient dense cacao powder. Enjoy this around the fire or as a way to officially kick off winter. I recommend frothing the milk you use as the base to add a “healthier whipped cream.”

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Plant Based Milk: I used Elmhurst 2 ingredient cashew milk, which is a thicker milk
  • Cacao Powder: cacao powder is a better option than cocoa powder as it maintains more beneficial nutrients and tastes similar
  • Coconut Sugar: you can also use maple syrup
  • Small Saucepan
