immune ginger honey drink | GIRLS WHO EAT

It goes without saying that we all could use an immunity boost these days. If you want an easy recipe that you can make daily (like me), then I highly recommend this honey ginger drink. It is so simple to make and ready in less than 10 minutes. It’s a great way to use fresh ginger, turmeric which is an anti-inflammatory spice, raw honey, and lemon juice, which are all great for immunity boosting and helping to fight off sickness.Β  This recipe is for one serving so you can always double the recipe if you want more. You might also choose to add in additional honey for a sweet beverage or less lemon juice for a less tart beverage!

For this recipe, you will need:

  • Ginger: use fresh ginger for maximum flavor and it is also a great digestive and anti-inflammatory ingredient
  • Honey: local or raw honey are my first choices and you can usually find them at your farmer’s markets or local grocery store
  • Lemon Juice: I recommend using fresh lemon juice
  • Turmeric: I used turmeric spice, which is a a great anti-inflammatory ingredient and you can always add in a sprinkle of black pepper to help activate the turmeric

  • 1-2 inch ginger, thinly sliced
  • 1/2-1 tbsp honey
  • 1/2-1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • sprinkle of dried turmeric

Instructions

  • Heat up your water and slice your ginger. You can leave the peel on or take it off (which you can use a spoon to slightly scrape it off), either is fine.

  • Add in honey, lemon juice, and a sprinkle of turmeric and mix together.
  • You might want to add in more honey and use less lemon juice depending on your preference. ENJOY!
